It is our mission to provide quality law enforcement, custodial and court related services to all persons in Rogers County.

Law Enforcement is more than a job, it is a profession. Employees of the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office are dedicated to serving and helping the citizens of Rogers County. The application process for both full and part-time positions is multi-staged and is designed to recruit quality Sheriff’s Office employees.

Recruitment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR DEPUTY SHERIFF:
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
  • Are at least 21+ years of age
  • Vision – Corrected distant vision 20/20 in each eye
  • Are legally authorized to work in the USA
  • Have a high school diploma, or GED
  • Have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and liability insurance
  • Have no criminal charges pending
  • Are not on probation for any criminal offense
  • Have never been convicted of a felony
DETENTION OFFICER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Be 18 years of age
  • Be legally authorized to work in the USA n Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license
  • Have never been convicted of a felony, have criminal charges pending, or be on probation for any criminal offense
  • Currently have good vision-corrected distant vision 20/20 in each eye
The applicant screening process begins once the applicant has submitted a completed Rogers County Sheriff’s Office application and it is received by the Administrative Division. The next steps that occur are as follows.
  • The prospective applicant’s application is reviewed by the administrative staff including the Captain of Patrol, Jail Administrator and others.
  • All applicants who provide a completed application will receive an oral board interview.
  • After the oral board, prospective applicants will be narrowed down, those chosen for the next step in the applicant process will proceed, those not chosen will be notified by phone within five business days.
  • Applicants chosen to proceed will then have their application reviewed by a member of our Investigations Unit and a thorough background investigation will take place.
  • Applicant who have passed the background investigation will then be reviewed by administrative staff and the applicant will be notified within 5 business days.
  • Once selected for employment, the applicant will complete a drug screening and paperwork with Rogers County Human Resources Office for employment.
