Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton began his law enforcement career in 1980 with the Tulsa Police Department after earning a business degree, and over the years built extensive experience through roles as a patrol officer, K-9 handler, detective, and member of specialized units targeting narcotics, vice crimes, and high-risk offenders. He also served in the Mounted Patrol, Street Crimes Unit, and as one of the first School Resource Officers, emphasizing community and school safety partnerships. Later, as Public Information Officer and Crime Commission coordinator, he strengthened collaboration between law enforcement, media, and the public, contributing to a highly successful Crime Stoppers program. A lifelong Rogers County resident, Walton returned home and was elected sheriff in 2008, where he continues to focus on community partnerships and effective law enforcement, while also maintaining a strong commitment to family and his passion for auto racing.
